You are invited to the Masonic Temple for a full evening of entertainment Oct. 25. The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with Civil War songs by Kurt and Carol Homann accompanied by Janice Clauser. Dinner by Allen's Country Kitchen Catering will be served at 6 p.m.  At 7 p.m. Gary Linn will present a fascinating program entitled: "The Battle of Gettysburg: North America's Greatest Battle, The Turning Point". History and military strategy buffs alike will be spellbound by this account of the Battle of Gettysburg.

Linn, a Crawfordsville native, taught history for 40 years. 38 of those years were at Crawfordsville Middle School. Teaching the history of the Civil War with a specific interest in Getttsburg was his favorite topic. He has been to Gettysburg 12 times and has visited every Civil War battlefield that is a National Historic Park and most other sites.

Shannon Sullivan Hudson will be present to answer questions and autograph her book, "Abolitionists of the Underground Railroad, Legends from Montgomery County, Indiana". The book  is a comprehensive look at the many Montgomery County citizens and organizations that were part of the massive, yet “underground”, movement to assist slaves in their quest for a new life. Hudson begins the book in 1746 and her exhaustive research leads the reader on a fascinating trip back in time.

Bruce Bower will have many Civil War items exhibited for viewing and for parents and grandparents some Civil War toys will be available for sale.
